Missha 3D Red Ginseng Mask AKA The Worst Mask Ever!

OMG, this mask was such a fail.  The fit, the smell, and then the aftermath!  I almost want to avoid Missha masks in general after this, it was so terrible.

Claims:  Firms and nourishes skin, 3D sheet mask with ergonomic design for perfect adherence on face curves, especially on nose and chin area.

Main Ingredient:  Red Ginseng extract 345 mg

Ingredients:  Water(Aqua), Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Carbomer, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Triethanolamine, Allantoin, Red Ginseng Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Fragrance(Parfum)

Net Weight:  23 g

Price:  I bought this from TesterKorea for less than 1000W, don't remember the specifics.  Don't want to.

I wore this mask for maybe 5 minutes, and couldn't stand it anymore.  The fit was awful.  Their attempt at a 3D mask meant making a seam right down the middle to kind of "tent" up the mask, which means it completely floated above my nose and drooped off my chin.  The nose flap was also way too long - as in whenever I breathed in, it kept flapping back and covering my nostrils.  It was so dry that the sides would barely stay on my face.  And then came the weird tingling sensation.  I was having such an unpleasant time, I threw the mask away after just a couple of minutes and went on with my day.  An hour later, I noticed some weird uneven feeling on my skin.  I look at the mirror later, to see this:

Yep, first allergic reaction to a sheet mask.  Fun.  That was yesterday.  The redness and bumpiness had gone away some more today, and some of the closed comedones have disappeared, but my face has been itchy all day, and I think it's now spreading down to my neck.  So awful.  I have no idea what ingredient in here triggered it, or if it was just expired or something (Edit:  Nope, expires 2016), but this was a terrible experience. 0/5

  1. Nooo I'm sorry you had that reaction... sheet masks are supposed to help, not hurt, your skin :( I have a couple of those masks I got for free with purchase when I was at the physical store in Korea, and now I'm thinking twice about using them. Thanks for the warning though!

  2. I have never had that reaction to any skincare product before! I've used other Missha sheet masks even, and while they were lackluster, they definitely didn't break me out. So crazy!
